The University of Rochester Archives are located in the Department of Rare Books, Special Collections, and Preservation in Rush Rhees Library. The collections hold administrative papers, moving image and audio recordings, maps, architectural drawings, and photographs.
The University Archives contain films and videos in almost all formats imaginable, from 16mm film to obsolete magnetic formats to digital formats. Preserved in this footage are scenes of student life, academic events, performances, and lectures.
Since the founding of the University of Rochester in 1850, a variety of publications have been issued to keep members of the University community informed, acknowledged, and (sometimes) entertained. These include alumni magazines, commencement programs, staff publications, newsletters, course bulletins, student yearbooks and newspapers. The materials available here are a mix of public domain and in-copyright items, and are provided for personal use only. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
