The Pandemic: By the year 2000, 38 to 110 million adults may be HIV infected--an effective response can make the difference. The Challenge: The gap between the pandemic and the current response is growing rapidly. The world needs a new approach--A New Health Strategy for AIDS.Cumulative HIV infections as of January 1, 1993: 19.5 million.
