Oh man...Anita and Raoul...are dead. And Rosa might be gone soon. Is it gonna happen to me, because I wasn't careful with Rosa...Or because I shared some stuff with Raoul a long time ago. What's gonna happen to me? What about Marisol? Oh, man, there's gotta be somebody who can help me. Hey! Maybe they can help me. It says they won't tell anybody I came to see them. 1-800-TALK-HIV. That's easy. 1-800-TALK-HIV. AIDS: It can happen to you. Protect yourself: Get the facts. Call the AIDS hotline. 1-800-TALK HIV. If you would like a Decision Comic Book send a stamped, self-addressed 9 by 12 envelope to: "Julio and Marisol" Box A," 125 Worth Street, New York City, N. Y. 10013. Rudolph Giuliani, Mayor, City of New York, Margaret A. Hamburg, M.D., Commissioner, New York City Department of Health.
In this comic strip Julio exits a funeral home, walks down the street and boards a city bus. He wonders about his HIV status as he walks. In one frame a thought bubble with an image of Rosa and him kissing floats above a thought bubble with text. As Julio worries about the risk of sharing a needle years ago with Raoul, an image of the scene appears in a thought bubble. When Julio boards the bus he sees an HIV Hotline poster that features a drawing by Keith Haring.
