"HIV can be transmitted from an infected person to a healthy person by:1. Blood routes:*Transfusion of blood and blood product for instance plasma.*Intra-venous injection by contaminated needle, as in the case of drug addicts who share the same needles.*Organ transplants.*Any skin piercing procedure or circumcisions if instruments are contaminated.2. Maternal routes:*If the the mother is infected HIV can be transmitted to the baby:-Inside the uterus during pregnancy.-During delivery.-Less commonly through breastfeeding.3. Sexual practices:*In countries with sexual freedom, homosexuality and abnormal forms of sexual practices, AIDS has spread quickly.AIDS is not transmitted by hand shake, embracing and using same plates and sharing toilet and by mosquito bite.HOW CAN YOU AVOID AIDS?1. Avoid doing any minor surgical practices (like circumcision) anywhere except well equipped hospitals or clinics.2. The only sure way for protection against AIDS is having normal family life and sticking to religious code of behaviour.
