The preventive measures and the problems of the developing world will be emphasized. There will be symposia, poster sessions, workshops and round table discussions on the following subjects: A. Virology: ranging from molecular biology to virus isolation, B. Pathogenesis and Immunology: from receptor molecules to neurology, C. Antiviral therapy: from chemistry to clinical trials, D. Epidemiology: from mathemetical models to studies of prevalence, E. Problems in the developing world: from seroepidemiology to Public Health, F. Prevention: from vaccines to sexual education, G. Clinical management: from bone marrow transplantation to clinical syndromes, H. Psycho-social aspects: from neuropsychiatry to intravenous drug abuse, I.
